PROFESSORSHIPS EPFL and ETH Zurich invested in hiring two new professors to expand their research activities. PROGRAMS ETH Zurich pushes a new research direction by funding the cross-institutional ALIVE initiative that explores the advanced engineering of living materials. CENTERS PSI invested in the founding of the technology transfer center ANAXAM that provides advanced material analytics to industry partners. EPFL invested in the founding of the M2C, the Micro-Manufacturing and Engineering Center, that wants to accelerate the transfer of innovative technologies from academic research towards widespread application. In addition to capacity buildup measures, the participating institutions invested in expanding and updating their research infrastructure.
