Printed Electronics

Today, the market pull for printed electronics originates from commodity good retailers that would benefit from replacing barcodes with a near-field-communication (NFC) Technology. However, the technology perspectives in that field are almost endless. Next to smart packaging, healthcare can benefit from personalized diagnostics, disposable sensors can monitor the environment.
A future integrated smart system device would combine a printed sensor, display, battery and memory module. Once such a platform technology is established, the technology can be adapted to different applications, which could be individualized by the end-user. Such achievements demand for much development effort.
