Unite and Build

We believe in the power of scientific exchange and collaboration. Only if we work together across disciplines and institutions, we will be able to develop advanced manufacturing technologies for the next generation of innovative products.
Therefore, we want to unite and to connect scientists with sparking ideas and build a strong Swiss scientific community in the domain of advanced manufacturing. That is the goal of the Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Community Events - SAMCE.

About SAMCE

SAMCE is organized in collaboration with SFA-AM, SATW, ETH Zurich, EPFL, PSI and Empa.

Impressions

SAMCE was launched during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. With innovative online events SAMCE helped strengthening the Swiss community in advanced manufacturing and provided a platform to exchange and discuss hot research topics despite contact regulation. A first in-person event was organized in September 2022. Over the past years, several SAMCE formats have been established, including a yearly SAMCE conference, the SAMCE industry workshop and the SAMCE EXCHANGE Award. All formats shall foster scientific exchange within Switzerland in the field of advanced manufacturing

During the launch event, the participants were asked what 'Advanced Manufacturing' stands for. In an online poll, the attendees submitted words and terms that they associate with this research area. The 'Word Cloud' below shows that 'Advanced Manufacturing' is accociated with many topics, but in particular and very often with 'Future', 'Innovation' and 'Sustainability'.
